This class is taught by

Beth McKenzie

IBCLC Lactation Consultant and Registered Nurse

Beth McKenzie (she/her) is a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). For the past 15+ years, Beth has been a critical care nurse at SickKids Hospital, taking care of babies and families in need.

Beth became passionate about breastfeeding after the birth of her daughter, when her own breastfeeding journey was more difficult than she anticipated it would be. This is what led her to study to become an IBCLC so that she could help others. Through her studies, Beth discovered that we have innate instincts that help us care for, nourish and nurture our babies. Her approach to breastfeeding support includes helping her clients tune into those instincts and connect with their baby.

Beth provides individualized and personalized support – like all of us at Oona, she believes that knowledge is power, including informed decision making regarding feeding and parenting your child. Whether your journey takes you towards breastfeeding, pumping, or formula, Beth is here to help provide evidence-based advice and support, that comes in a judgement-free, accepting space.

Beth is an active leader with La Leche League Canada and has been helping and supporting lactating parents since 2016.
