Knowing when and how to start solids with your baby can be so daunting, but it doesn’t have to be!
Occupational therapists have knowledge in oral motor development, general motor development and sensory processing development. And believe it or not, ALL these skills (and more) are required for successfully starting solids.
Join our Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Teddie Buchner, as she leads you through everything you need to know to start solids with your baby. This is an interactive workshop and you should expect to discuss, learn and watch your baby interact with solid food.
Some of the topics that will be discussed include:
How to read your baby’s readiness cues for feeding and eating
Current evidence based recommendations for introducing new foods
Puree vs. table foods
How do I set good eating habits that will last
How to progress through solids as your child grows
Gagging vs. choking
This workshop is great for parents and caregivers who are nervous about introducing solids to their baby or having difficulties transitioning their baby to solid foods. At the end of this workshop you should leave feeling more confident and comfortable with starting solids with your baby and introducing new foods.
